(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Thursday, a source from the Iraqi Ministry of Interior revealed that at least 13 people were either killed or wounded in an explosion of a booby-trap vehicle at New Baghdad area in eastern Baghdad. Meanwhile, it is expected that the number of casualties will increase as time goes by as it was a high intensity bombing.

In a statement issued to the press, which has also been obtained by IraqiNews.com, the source said, “This morning, a booby-trap vehicle exploded near a popular market in New Baghdad area of eastern Baghdad, killing four people and wounding nine others.”

The source, who requested anonymity, furher added, “Ambulances rushed to the incident area and evacuated the wounded to a nearby hospital. The bodies of the deceased people were sent forensic tests and the area has been cordoned off and approach to the area has been sealed.”
