Mosul (BasNews) Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said that the information available about the Islamic State (IS) chief Abubakir al-Baghdadi indicates that he has fled Mosul a long time ago.

Abadi pointed out that the Iraqi forces liberated the left side of Mosul completely, and more than half of the right side has so far been liberated, adding that “We liberated the province of Nineveh after we were away from it 300 kilometers.”

He stressed that the IS militants are left with with only two choices, “surrender or death.”

Regarding the location of the IS leader al-Baghdadi, Abadi said he escaped from Mosul a long time ago according to the intelligence services.

“We will soon control Iraq’s entire border with Syria,” Abbadi said.
