Clashes break out as ISIS launches offensive on Amiriyat-Fallujah

Al-Anbar (IraqiNews.com) The Amiriyat-Fallujah Police Department announced Saturday, that the ISIS group carried out an extensive attack on the district, noting that violent clashes broke out between the security forces and ISIS elements in the area.

Police Major Arif al-Janabi, the chief of the Amiriyat-Fallujah Police Department, stated to IraqiNews in an interview, “Elements of the ISIS group have carried out an offensive operation on Amiriyat-al-Fallujah (23 km south of Fallujah),” pointing out that, “The security forces backed by armed tribal fighters are battling against elements of the group in an ongoing fight between the two sides.”
