 US F16 warplanes to arrive in Iraq in July says Air Force Commander

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The commander of the Air Force Gen. Anwar Hamad Amine announced on Wednesday that a number of F16 fighter jets will arrive in Iraq by next July 12th, accompanied by trained pilots, pointing out that these fighter jets will be used to implement various operations upon arrival in the country.

A statement of the Ministry of Defense quoted Amine as saying that, “The Iraqi Air Force has a great and active role in the protection of Iraq and the hunt for the terrorist gangs.”

Amine added, “The fighter jets will arrive with pilot trained in the US.”

He continued, “This fighter jet will be used in the implementation of various operations immediately upon arrival in the country and at the hands of Iraqi pilots.”
