Gunmen kidnap 18 Turkish workers from Olympic Stadium in Baghdad

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the police announced on Wednesday, that gunmen wearing military uniforms have kidnapped 18 Turkish workers and an Iraqi citizen working on the Olympic Stadium project in eastern Baghdad.
The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com: “Armed men wearing military uniforms abducted, this morning, 18 Turkish workers and another Iraqi, working in the construction of the Olympic Stadium in Habiba area eastern Baghdad.”
The source, who asked anonymity, added: “the gunmen transferred the abducted to an unknown destination.”
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Youth and Sports has contracted with the Turkish company “Norol” in 2011 to create a stadium in Sadr City for the development of sports.
