Gunmen netted, explosives seized in southern Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) An Iraqi Army force captured about 16 gunmen and seized large amounts of explosives in southern Baghdad on Monday.

The Commander of 17^th Division of the Iraqi Army, General Nasir Ghanam, stated in a press release that “The a force from the 17^th IA division conducted a security operation in al-Shakhat area in southern Baghdad.”

“The operation resulted in arresting 16 terrorists, discovering 33 bombs, 53 artillery shells and amount of 50 kg of TNT explosives,” Ghanam concluded.
