Interpol announces the existence of 25,000 foreign fighters in the ranks of ISIS

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The Interpol announces on Thursday the presence of 25,000 foreign “fighters” among the ranks of the ISIS organization coming from 50 countries, while pointed out to determining the identity of more than five thousand members, urging the members of Interpol to do more security cooperation to combat the threat of terrorism.

The Director of the Interpol, Jurgen Stoke, said during a conference held in Seville, Spain today on the war against terrorism: “There are about 25,000 foreign fighters among the ranks of extremist groups in Syria and Iraq,” noting that, “Interpol was able to determine the identity of 5800 foreign fighters that had engaged in the ranks of ISIS in Iraq and Syria. ”

Jurgen called the members of the Interpol to “do more cooperation and coordination among them in the field of the fight against terrorism and intelligence.”
