4 IPs killed, wounded in Tikrit [08/15/2013]

Salah-il-Din, Tikrit (IraqiNews.com) Four policemen were killed and wounded when an Improvised Explosive Device exploded to the north of Tikrit city.Security source reported to IraqiNews.com ”The IED, which was emplaced on a roadside, exploded targeting a police patrol in Sheikh Hamd village in the Left Coast of Shurqat district of northern Tikrit city,” noting that ”The explosion resulted in killing a policeman and wounding three others as well as causing material damages to the police vehicle.””The security forces cordoned the explosion area off transporting the policeman dead body to the morgue and the wounded to the hospital for treatment,” the source added.”The security forces carried out a raid-search operation in the village that resulted in discovering three IEDs and the force dismantled them without losses,” the source concluded. \END\
