Iraq Minister of Human Rights confirms that ISIL killed at least 500 Yazidi

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, the Minister of Human Rights Mohammed Shia al-Sudani confirmed that the militants of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant killed at least 500 people of the Yazidi minority in Iraq; some of the victims were buried alive. In addition, ISIL kidnapped and enslaved hundreds of women.

Sudani said, in a statement quoted by Reuters that “The militants buried some of the victims alive, including a number of women and children. Also, they took about 300 women as slaves.”

Sudani stressed by saying, “We have conclusive evidence obtained from the Yazidis survivors of death, as well as unquestionable pictures of the crime scenes showing that the gangs of ISIL have executed at least 500 Yazidis after entering Sinjar.”

Sudani added that “some of the victims, including women and children, were buried alive in mass graves in the Sinjar area and its outskirts”

United Nations confirmed in (August 3, 2014) that thousands from the Yazidis were surrounded by the militants of ISIL in Sinjar Mountain, expressing concerns for the safety of the trapped civilians.
