(IraqiNews.com) Karbala – On Monday, Karbala Provincial Council announced the killing of a number of ISIS militants and the burning caravans and 40 boats belonging to them in a landing operation by the Iraqi Army Aviation and al-Furat al-Awsat Operations in the depth of al-Anbar.

Head of the provincial council, Nasif al-Khattabi, stated in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The army’s air force and al-Furat al-Awsat Operations Command conducted, yesterday, a landing operation in the depth of al-Anbar in the area of Onak al-Raza,” pointing out that, “The landing operation targeted an ISIS gathering and resulted in the eradication of the gathering and burning caravans and 40 boats that were prepared to carry out an operation in al-Habaniyah.”

He added, “The army’s air force and al-Furat al-Awsat carried out another operation based on intelligence collected by our front troops stationed in Nakhib about ISIS elements in the area of Kesra in northwest of Nakhib,” noting that, “Those elements have been targeted and destroyed.”
