(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The US Army General and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff confirmed on Thursday that Iraqi army forces “chose” to withdraw from the city of Ramadi and had not been forced by ISIS.

“CNN” quoted Dempsey as saying, “The Iraqi army forces, which had been present in Ramadi, chose to withdraw from the city; ISIS did not force them to do that,” noting that, “the military commander of these forces chose individually on what seems to withdraw his forces to a point more likely of a defense zone. ”

“The Iraqi and US authorities are investigating to find out exactly what happened in Ramadi,” Dempsey added.
