Iraqi forces regain control over Samarra-Baghdad main road

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) The commander of the Fifth Brigade Major General Emad al-Eqabi announced Sunday, that the security forces have managed to regain control over the Samarra-Baghdad road in Salahuddin province.

Major General Emad Al-Eqabi stated to IraqiNews in an interview, “Army forces of Samarra Operations Command backed by the federal police elements and volunteer troops have managed to regain full control over the main road which links between Samarra and Baghdad, noting that, “The road has been secured and reopened for passengers.”

“The security forces have managed to repel a number of attacks by the ISIS group on the area,” the source added.
