Iraqi forces secure Samarra, life back to normal, says official

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) The head of Samarra district announced Thursday, that Iraqi security forces regained control over the surroundings of Samarra.

Mahmoud Khalaf, the head of Samarra district, stated to IraqiNews, “Iraqi forces have managed to regain control over the surrounding areas of Samarra,” adding that, “Life has come back to normal in most of the district.”

Earlier today, a source in Salahuddin province said, that violent clashes between Iraqi security forces and elements of the ISIS group have broken out in Samarra.
