Iraqi forces and volunteers liberate 8 villages in Diyali

Diyali (IraqiNews.com) On Wednesday, a security source in Diyali province stated, that 8 ISIS militants have been killed, including 3 suicide bombers who were ready to blow up themselves.

The source informed IraqiNews, “This morning, Iraqi forces accompanied with armed volunteers and Kurdish Peshmerga troops carried an offensive operation against ISIS militants in Qura Taba area, 112 km northeast of Baqubah and Jalawla area, 70 km northeast of Baqubah.”

“The operation resulted in liberating 8 villages until this moment and killing 8 ISIS militants, including 3 suicide bombers who were ready to blow themselves up. Security forces had also managed to remove 23 explosive mines and destroy 6 armored vehicles which belonged to the group.”

Noteworthy, the province of Diyali witnesses violent clashes between ISIS militants who had seized most of it and Iraqi forces as well as Kurdish Peshmerga fighters after they withdrew about 4 months ago.
