Iraqi joint forces foil ISIS attack on Alas and Ajil oilfields north of Salahuddin

(IraqiNews.com) Salahuddin – A security source in Salahuddin province said on Monday, that the joint forces had managed to foil an ISIS attack on Ajil and Alas oil fields, while pointed out to the killing of 15 ISIS elements and wounding 8 others north of the province.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said in a brief statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “The army forces as well as the Federal Police and al-Hashed al-Sha’bi [militia] were able to foil a massive attack by ISIS on Ajil and Alas oil fields,” noting that, “Those forces killed 15 [ISIS] elements and wounded 8 others.”
“The two fields were secured and ISIS has not achieved any progress in them,” the source added.
