Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that U.S. Army Gen. Martin Dempsey didn’t discuss the deployment of foreign ground troops to help Iraqi soldiers.

Abadi’s Office spokesman Saad al-Hadithi stated for IraqiNews that, “Iraqi government’s position on the deployment of foreign troops is clear. It is that Iraq doesn’t need any; PM Abadi and Gen. Dempsey never discussed it in their meeting.”

He also added that, “Gen. Dempsey admired the Iraqi forces advance and noted the U.S. government willingness to help Iraq and give various sorts of support.”

Noteworthy, U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said earlier today that he may consider sending ground troops to Iraq in order to help with locating ISIS targets that the international coalition air strikes intend to target.
