 Iraqi police arrests senior ISIS leader in Kirkuk Province

(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – An informed source in Kirkuk Police said on Tuesday, that the security forces had managed to arrest a senior ISIS leader that was involved in the killing of two of his brothers southwest of the province.

The source said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “Our forces managed to arrest one of the ISIS members from the village of Yengejeh in the district of al-Tuz (110 km south of Kirkuk),” explaining that, “The detainee was involved in detonating five car bombs in the district of al-Tuz and planting dozens of car bombs on the road between Tikrit and Tuz District,” adding that, “[The detainee] admitted participating in the battles against the Peshmerga and al-Hashed al-Sha’bi troops in al-Tuz and Kirkuk.”

The source also added, “The arrest took place after careful follow-up and collection of accurate intelligence information,” pointing out that, “The detainee was involved in the killing of two of his brothers in Hawija southwest of Kirkuk.”
