Iraqi troops begin extensive military operation south of Tikrit
Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) The President of Salahuddin Governorate Council Ahmed al-Karim stated that Iraqi troops liberated areas south of Tikrit and set up a camp after having forced ISIS militants to retreat north. Karim stated that, “The security forces have set up a camp in al-Daluiya south of Tikrit and will head north from al-Jabour area in north of Daluiya to start an extensive military operation against ISIS fighters.”
A security source earlier today informed IraqiNews that Daluiya has witnessed heavy clashes between Iraqi Army and ISIS militants which resulted in tens of ISIS fighters getting killed and the liberation of areas south of Tikrit.
