(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – A security source in Kirkuk province said on Wednesday, that the army’s Air Force destructed a vital bridge used by ISIS for the transfer of militants from the province of Nineveh to the southwestern axis of Kirkuk.

The source said in a brief statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “Today, F-16 warplanes conducted an aerial strikes in which destructed a startegic bridge in the vicinity of al-Zab in the district of al-Hawija (65 km southwest of Kirkuk),” noting that, “[The ISIS] was using the bridge to transfer the militants from Nineveh to al-Hawija.”

The source also added, “The bridge was partly destroyed during an air strike by the Iraqi Army Aviation about two months ago,” stressing “The separation of Hawija and Nineveh after the destruction of the majority of the bridges.”
