Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Monday the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey said that the United States had to risk bringing in low-flying Apache attack helicopters against ISIS militants that were advancing near Baghdad airport.

“The tool that was immediately available was the Apache helicopter. You’re not going to wait until they’re climbing over the wall.” Dempsey said.

Dempsey has said yesterday that he would recommend that Obama deploy combat troops to fight ISIS militants on the ground under some circumstances. “There will be circumstances when I will recommend sending US combat troops to fight ISIS militants.”
