 ISIS attack on village north of Salahuddin foiled, eight fighters killed in southern Sharqat

(IraqiNews.com) Salahuddin – Salahuddin Provincial Council announced on Wednesday about liberating an area north of Salahuddin from the ISIS control apart from informing about the death of eight (8) ISIS fighters who were killed by the officers of Salahuddin Police while they were attempting to attack a village in southern Sharqat.

The Head of Salahuddin Provincial Council Salah al-Din Ahmed al-Karim, in a statement issued to the media said, “The security forces managed to liberate Telul al-Baj and raised the Iraqi flag on a government building.”

Meanwhile, the commander of Salahuddin police regiment Brigadier Khalil al-Ramli in a press statement said, “Forces from the emergency police’s 12th regiment repulsed an attack launched by ISIS at one of village in southern al-Sharqat and in the retaliatory attack eight (8) ISIS members were killed.”
