(IraqiNews.com) On Wednesday, Anbar Provincial Council warned that ISIS control over the province is imminent, while pointing out that the city of Ramadi is about to collapse, and the central government is responsible for it.

The deputy chairman of the Council Faleh al-Issawi said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “ISIS control is just around the corner from the province,” noting that, “The city of Ramadi is about to collapse.”

Issawi added, “The central government in Baghdad is responsible for this situation. It was informed that the province was in need to arms and equipment but it never responded,” pointing out that, “The mistake lies in slow arming and equipping.”

Concerning al-Hashd al-Sha’bi militia forces in the province, al-Issawi said, “The battle in Anbar is a national one, and we welcomed al-Hashd al-Sha’bi presence,” and added, “Some of al-Hashd al-Sha’bi forces entered Ramadi a few days ago, then withdrew without mentioning the reasons.”

Issawi continued, “The US-led international coalition did not play any role in the battle during the past two days,” warning that, “The security forces are fighting with all their might, but they are not enough.”
