(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – on Saturday evening, ISIS has executed 16 Iraqi merchants, who were transporting foodstuff from the northern strategic city of Baiji to the western city of Haditha.

Baiji city mayor, Abdelhakim al-Jughaifi confirmed that16 Haditha traders were executed on Saturday evening.

“The victims were transporting mostly food goods, such as vegetables, from Baiji to Haditha,” the mayor said, adding, “They were stopped at a checkpoint and abducted. They then executed them, some by shooting them, others by slitting their throats.”

The Mayor pointed out that, “some of Haditha inhabitants were traveling in the same road between Haditha and Baiji, and found the bodies of the victims and brought them to the city.”
