(IraqiNews.com) According to a local source in Nineveh province, the ISIS group has imposed compulsory military service in Nineveh, Hawija, Qayyarah and Shirqat, and armed and deployed dozens of children on the streets.

The source said in an interview with IraqiNews.com, “ISIS imposed compulsory military service in Nineveh, Hawija, Qayyarah and Shirqat,” noting that, “It also forced every family to offer a young man aging between 12 and 17 to be one of its elements.”

The source, who requested to remain anonymous, added, “The organization was able to attract a lot of children, handing them weapons and deploying them on the streets.”

The source pointed out that the majority of ISIS field leaders live in Nineveh in neighborhoods belonging to the displaced people of the province.
