ISIS and Iraqi forces engage in battle near Tikrit

(IraqiNews.com) Salahuddin – On Wednesday, a security source in Salahuddin province announced that violent clashes broke out between the federal police forces and ISIS elements in the north of Tikrit.
The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com “Violent clashes have broken out between the federal police forces backed by al-Hashed al-Shabi militia and ISIS elements on the other side in the road, which links between the village of al-Mazra’ah and Baiji’s refinery in the north of Tikrit.”
“The federal forces are advancing in this road, as well as securing it from ISIS militants,” the source added.
