(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – The poverty and famine that surround the Iraqi city of Mosul obliged a number of its residents to sell their organs, according to media reports and sources on the ground.

ISIS that claims to establish an Islamic Caliphate in Mosul is buying these organs, especially kidneys in exchange of princely sum.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party spokesman in Mosul Saeed Mamousini said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “Mosul hospitals have seen more than 70 cases of local residents, mostly males, who were forced to sell their kidneys in exchange for three thousand dollars to provide food for their families.”

The Kurdish official added, “ISIS sells these kidneys to its members in the Syrian city of Raqqa with triple the price.”
