ISIS kidnaps 170 civilians in Kirkuk

(IraqiNews.com) On Saturday, a security source in Kirkuk province announced, that the militants of ISIS have kidnapped 170 civilians of two villages in the Hawija district southwest of the province, because they burned its flag.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “Since last night until this morning, the militants ISIS have kidnapped 170 people belonging to the Jabour clan in the villages of Chajara and Gharib in Hawija (55 km southwest of Kirkuk),” noting that, “They were kidnapped for bringing down and burning the flag of the organization.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “The terrorist organization transferred the kidnapped to its detention headquarters in Hawija,” pointing out, “ISIS now lives in a state of fear because of the increasing rejection toward it in the southwestern areas of the province.”
