(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – Local sources in Nineveh province said on Thursday that the ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi had been hit yesterday in an aerial strike by the international coalition in one of the ISIS headquarters near the Syrian border.

According to local sources the top ISIS leader, Abu bakr al-Baghdadi, along with other senior ISIS leaders, were injured near one of the command headquarters in the vicinity of al-Rabiya near the Iraqi-Syrian border in the northern province of Nineveh.

The U.S.-led coalition spokesman Colonel Chris Garver said in a press statement that he was aware of the reports, but added that he had “nothing to confirm this at this time.”

Noteworthy, there have been several unconfirmed reports in the past that claimed that the ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was wounded or even killed.
