 ISIS leader who seized al-Walid border with Syria killed by airstrike west of Anbar

(IraqiNews.com) A local official in Anbar said on Tuesday, that the ISIS leader, who is responsible for the occupation of the border with Syria, was killed by an air strike west of the province.

The official said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The warplanes bombed, today, the headquarters of the ISIS organization al-Walid in the district of al-Rutba (310 km west of Ramadi), near the Iraqi border of al-Walid with Syria, located west of Anbar.”

The official, who requested anonymity, added, “The bombing has killed the leader within the ISIS, known as Mohamed Khalif, along with a number of his aides” pointing out that, “Khalif was responsible for the occupation of the border in al-Walid.”
