(IraqiNews.com) al-Anbar – The President of Khalediya District Council, Ali Dawood, announced on Sunday, that the ISIS shelled the district, east of Ramadi, with mortar rounds and rockets, while pointed out that the intensive shelling is ongoing until now.

Dawood said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “ISIS shelled, intensively, al-Khalediya [District] (23 km east of Ramadi) by 11 mortar rounds and rockets that fell on different areas in the city, resulting in the injury of one civilian, in addition to causing damage to the property of citizens.”

He added, “The bombardment is ongoing until now,” calling the security forces to “liberate al-Khalediya Island from ISIS [militants] to avoid the shelling of the city by [them].”
