ISIS’ “fiercest” attack on Ramadi repelled, says Anbar Council

(IraqiNews.com) On Wednesday, the Council of Anbar province declared that, the attack of the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) on the city of Ramadi was replled, and described it as “the fiercest and the most violent attack” since the beginning of the crisis in the province, indicating it will inflict great losses upon the ISIS organization.

The head of the Council, Sabah Krhot said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “Security forces and tribesmen today were able to repel an attack that was the fiercest and deadliest of its kind for ISIS on the city of Ramadi,” noting that the organization suffered great losses in lives and equipment.

Krhot added that the security forces gained control of the governmental compound and all governmental partitions in the city of Ramadi.
