 Joint Operations Command: Cell involved in killing 2 Generals in Anbar destroyed

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The Joint Operations Command announced on Saturday the killing of the involved members of the cell which had targeted the deputy commander of Anbar Operations Maj. Gen. Abdul-Rahman Abu Raghif and the 10th division commander, Brigadier General Safin Abdul Majid.

The spokesman for the joint operations said in a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, “Falcons Intelligence Cell, in coordination with the Joint Operations Command, put all its efforts in order to reach the hideout, in which [ISIS] planed and sent booby-trapped vehicles targeting the heroic martyrs, Maj. Gen. Abdul-Rahman Abu Raghif and the 10th division commander, Brigadier General Safin Abdul Majid, along with other heroes and martyrs. ”

The spokesman added, “on 28 August 2015, a group belonging to the Falcons Intelligence forces and the Iraqi Air Force were able to locate the terrorist cell and its headquarters in the neighborhood of April the 7th,” explaining that, “after locating the target accurately, Air Falcons launched an air strike using guided missiles and the target was destroyed.”
