Justice Ministry denies escape of prisoners in Kadhimiya

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Justice denied reports over a prison break in Adala Prison in Kadhimiya city of northern Baghdad after being shelled on Thursday evening.

Spokesperson of Justice Ministry Haider al-Saadi said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com “The situation is quiet and the prison is under control of the security forces and guards of the Reform Department after the end of the mortar attack that targeted the prison on Thursday evening.”

“The minister of justice instructed to all sensitive prisons to be cautious and adopt alert situation,” he added, noting that “Adala prison is monitored by the ministry of justice through a net of cameras continuously.”

He denied reports over “Escape of prisoners from Adala prison,” stressing that “Elements of the Federal Police are surrounding the prison.” /End/
