(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – On Thursday, a source within the Peshmerga forces revealed, that the Peshmerga were able to free a village and a residential block from ISIS in southwest of Kirkuk.

The source informed IraqiNews.com, “Today the Peshmerga forces conducted an extensive security operation in areas southwest of Kirkuk,” pointing out that, “The Kurdish fighters had managed to liberate the village of Wastana and a residential block in Abu Nur from ISIS control.”

“The operation was carried out in coordination with the international coalition aviation and resulted in killing dozens of ISIS elements and the escape of many others,” the source added.
