Man killed, wife injured in Erbil

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) A man was killed and his wife injured due to explosion of a mortar shell in Raniya district of Erbil province within Kurdistan Region.

The spokesperson of Raniya health department, Rabreen Taha Mohammed, stated to IraqiNews.com Friday “The 61 year old killed person was messing with a mortar shell kept in his house,” noting that “The explosion caused the death of the man and injuring his wife seriously.”

Mohammed added “The killed person was transferred to the morgue and his wife was transferred to the hospital for treatment.”
