 McGurk: Campaign to retake Mosul from ISIS is “well planned”

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The US Special Presidential Envoy for the US-led coalition to fight ISIS Brett H. McGurk announced, that the liberation operation of Mosul started by cutting the supply routes between ISIS stronghold city of Raqqa in Syria and Mosul City in Iraq.

McGurk said during a press conference held at the US embassy in Baghdad today and followed by IraqiNews.com, “The liberation operation of Mosul started by cutting the route between Mosul and Raqqa.”

The US Special Envoy highlighted the complexity of the campaign, while pointed out that the campaign to retake Mosul is well planned.

McGurk added that he will meet the US Ambassador to Baghdad, as well as the Governor of Nineveh province to discuss the operation.

The US Special Envoy Brett McGurk also stated, “The international coalition is coordinating with Peshmerga and Sunni forces to attack ISIS in Mosul.”
