(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in Ministry of Interior informed on Saturday that police has successfully arrested a gang of eight (8) men, who set fire at Al-Yarmouk Hospital in Baghdad on August 10 last killing 12 newborns.

Sharing details the source said, “Police today arrested a gang of eight men, who on August 10 last, set Al-Yarmouk Hospital on fire. The gang not just set the hospital on fire but it also stole a sum of 100 million Iraqi dinars. In the fire, 12 newborns were also killed.”

“The CC TV cameras installed in the hospital had captured the images of the eight men, who entered the hospital in disguises of audit team members. Their main target was to steal the money and the hospital was set ablaze for covering up the theft,” the source further added.

It may be mentioned here that the initial investigation of the fire incident site found the presence of flammable materials. Moreover, on August 14 last, spokesperson of the Iraqi Health Ministry said that arson was behind the incident.
