Militia elements killed, injured in suicide bombing west of Samarra

(IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, according to a security source in Salahuddin province, a number of elements of the militia had been killed and wounded when a car bomb driven by a suicide bomber targeted their headquarters west of Samarra.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “A car bomb driven by a suicide bomber exploded today; it targeted the militia headquarters near the Fallujah/Samarra road junction, west of Samarra (40 km south of Tikrit), which led to a number of deaths and injuries.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “Security forces cordoned off the scene, while ambulances transferred the dead bodies to the Forensic Medicine Department and the injured to the nearest hospital for treatment.”
