(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The parliamentary committee that was formed to investigate Karada bombing announced that the materials used in the explosion are the same that were used in the explosion of New Baghdad area.

It may be mentioned here that as per Conflict Armament Research reports, the explosives used in Karrada bombing contained hydrogen peroxide, which is used as a disinfectant in hospitals and the food industry, but is also often part of homemade explosives.

The committee, in its findings, even said that the Karrada bombings were actually carried out by a ‘miniature hydrogen bomb’, even as it made its intention clear to seek international help for investigating the types of material used in the bombing.

The Head of the committee Eskandar Watot said, “The committee has summoned the former commander of Baghdad Operations Abdel Amir al-Shamry along with a number of other officers who were responsible for carrying out checking at the checkpoints of Karada..”

Watot added, “The committee, after its preliminary investigations, have found that the materials used in Karada bombing are the same that were used in the New Baghdad bombing.”

Committee member Majid al-Gharawi said, “According to certain hypotheses it can be said that the terrorists used a miniature hydrogen bomb to carry out the Karrada bombing. The committee will seek help of international parties and specialists to reveal the type of the materials actually used in the bombing.”
