MoD: Iraqi forces kill 26 terrorists, advance towards Tikrit

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Defense announced Sunday, that the Iraqi joint forces advanced towards Tikrit, while 26 terrorists were killed during violent clashes in the city.
The ministry said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews, “A joint force, consisting of anti-terrorism units and local police elements advanced towards the city of Tikrit,” pointing out that,”The force has cleansed the roads in the southern axis in al-Awjah area and the western axis in al-Dayoum area from ISIS militants.”
“The security forces have managed to kill 26 militants during clashes with a number of terrorists in the areas of Ain-Farras, Tikrit Hospital, al-Oujah al-Jadida,” the statement also added.
