(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on Wednesday, that Russia has not received any formal request from Iraq to carry out air strikes against ISIS on Iraqi territory.

Peskov told reporters that “Moscow has not received any formal request from Baghdad to launch air raids in Iraq.”

Noteworthy, Russia had carried out air strikes against ISIS in Syria, while the Iraqi prime minister Haider al-Abadi stressed his acceptance for air campaign against ISIS by Russia in Iraq as long as the Iraqi government approves it.
