Mosque attacked western Mosul

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) Four persons were either killed or injured due to attacking a mosque to the west of Mosul on Friday.

“An Iraqi officer, with a major rank, from the Federal Police Unit was killed while a soldier, policeman and civilian were injured when a bomb emplaced near Haj Abdullah Mosque exploded targeting the worshippers who were leaving the mosque at the end of Friday prayers sermon,” security source reported to IraqiNews.com.

“Security forces cordoned off the explosion area and transported the casualties to the hospital for treatment,” the source added, noting that “The dead body of the officer was transported to the morgue.”
