New portion of Russian armored vehicles to arrive in Umm Qasr

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Iraqi Ministry of Defense stated on Tuesday, that a new portion of Russian armored vehicles have arrived at the port of Umm Qasr south of Basra province (590 km south of Baghdad).

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “A number of Russian armored vehicles arrived, this morning, at the military pier in the port of Umm Qasr south of Basra,” without giving further details.

Noteworthy, Iraq is linked with Russia through historic ties that date back to the forties of the last century, when diplomatic relations between Iraq and the Soviet Union took place at the time.
