(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The US President Barack Obama approved to send more than 200 additional troops to Iraq, including special forces, trainers and technicians, as well as deploying Apache helicopters for the first time in the war against ISIS, while pointed out that this contribution will enable the US forces to provide more effective support for the Iraqi troops in the battle of Mosul.

The Associated Press Agency stated in a report followed by IraqiNews.com, “The US President Barack Obama approved to send more than 200 additional troops to Iraq, in addition to deploying Apache helicopters for the first time in the war against ISIS,” noting that, “These decisions reflect weeks of discussions with commanders and Iraqi leaders.”

The report added, “The President’s decision will increase the authorized troops in Iraq from three thousand and 870 soldiers to four thousand and 87 soldiers.”
