Obeidi heads to Belgium to attend international conference against ISIS

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The Iraqi Ministry of Defense announced, that Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi traveled to Belgium to attend an international conference against ISIS that will be attended by more than 60 Defense Ministers from all the countries that participate in the international coalition against the terrorist organizations.

The Defense Ministry said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “Obeidi will deliver a speech at the international conference revealing the Iraqi role in fighting terrorism on behalf of the whole world, as well as the great victories achieved by the Iraqi forces against the terrorist organizations.”

The statement added, “The Defense Minister will also highlight the role of the international coalition in supporting the Iraqi forces,” pointing out that, “Obeidi reiterated Iraq’s request to increase the training provided to its forces, as well as providing the necessary weapons and equipment to eliminate the presence of the terrorist organizations.”
