 Police detains 6 ISIS elements southwest of Kirkuk, says Police Chief

(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – The head of Kirkuk Police Gen. Sarhad Qader announced Thursday, that six ISIS elements have been detained in a security operation in southwest of the province.

Head of Kirkuk Police Gen. Sarhad Qader stated in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “This afternoon, a force from Kirkuk Police conducted a security operation in the village of Hangirah in Bajwan District,” pointing out that, “The force had managed to detain 6 ISIS elements from the residents of al-Hawija District as they were preparing to carry out bombings in the area.”

“The operation was based on the back of accurate intelligence received by the police,” he added.
