9 policemen killed, wounded in Tikrit

Salah-il-Din, Tikrit (IraqiNews.com) Nine policemen were killed or wounded due to an explosion of an Improvised Explosive Device to the south of Tikrit city.Security source reported to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) ”The IED, which was emplaced on a roadside, exploded targeting a police patrol in Yathrib area within Balad district of southern Tikrit city,” noting that “The explosion of the IED resulted in killing three policemen and wounding six others of the police patrol.””The security forces attended the explosion location transporting the dead bodies to the morgue and the wounded policemen to the nearest hospital for treatment,” the source concluded.
