Political bids frustrate me, some politicians call on soldiers to lay down arms, says Defense Minister

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Sunday, Iraqi Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi said, that he becomes “frustrated” because of political bides, pointing out that some politicians are targeting the ministry to thwart the work of the state, while also underlined that one of the politicians is calling the soldiers to lay down their arms.

Obeidi said in press statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “The Ministry of Defense is targeted by some people for the purpose of thwarting the work of the state; the political bids frustrate me.”

Obeidi added that, “The statements of some politicians does not have an affect on the work of Khalid al-Obeidi, but it has affect on the work of the Ministry of Defense and the  military commanders in the field,” noting that “one of the politicians demanded the soldiers to lay down their weapons claiming that the state is pushing them to Holocaust.”
