(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A police source announced on Wednesday, that at least seven people were killed and 20 others were wounded in the car bomb explosion that took place in al-Rabie’ street in western Baghdad today.

The source said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “The initial outcome of the car bomb explosion that took place in al-Rabie’ street in western Baghdad and targeted a police checkpoint, reached 7 dead and 20 wounded, as well as burning a number of civilian vehicles inside the checkpoint.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “A security force and ambulances rushed to the incident area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital to receive treatment and the dead bodies to the forensic medicine department.”
