Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) On Monday, a member of Salahuddin Provincial Council said, that military reinforcements arrived today in Biji (Baiji), noting that the operation to free the city has not begun yet.

The member of Salahuddin Provincial Council, Ahmed Nazim, informed IraqiNews.com, “The military reinforcements have arrived in the southern outskirts of the district of Biji, located 40 km north of Tikrit,” pointing out that, “The military operation to retake the district has not begun yet.”

He added, “The security forces could not send reinforcements to the city because the militants control the main road,” noting that, “The ISIS group has managed to take control over most of the city in the last two days, seizing all of which located between Burgowazi village near the oil refinery in northern Biji and Mallaha village at the southern entrance.”

Noteworthy, the governor of Salahuddin Raed al-Jabouri stated last Saturday, that Baiji is under attack by the ISIS group militants, calling the government to intervene immediately to save the city.
